To change a car battery, you will need the following tools: a socket wrench, pliers, and a new battery.

  1. Locate the battery in your car. It is usually found in the engine compartment, near the front of the vehicle.
  2. Turn off the car and remove the key from the ignition.
  3. Locate the negative cable, which is typically black and has a minus (-) sign on it. Use the socket wrench to loosen the bolt that holds the cable onto the negative terminal of the battery. Carefully remove the cable from the terminal.
  4. Locate the positive cable, which is typically red and has a plus (+) sign on it. Use the socket wrench to loosen the bolt that holds the cable onto the positive terminal of the battery. Carefully remove the cable from the terminal.
  5. Carefully remove the battery from its compartment.
  6. Clean the battery terminals and the surrounding area with a wire brush or baking soda and water to remove any corrosion.
  7. Place the new battery in the compartment and reattach the positive and negative cables to the corresponding terminals. Tighten the bolts securely with the socket wrench.
  8. Start the car and let it run for a few minutes to ensure that the battery is working properly.
  9. Before closing the hood, check all the connections to ensure they are tight and not corroded.

Note: Be careful while handling the battery as they contain lead and acid. Keep away from children and pets. Read the instruction manual of your car before starting the process.
